Opt-in: By messaging our WhatsApp number or submitting your number via our website or a partner platform, you consent to receiving WhatsApp messages from Ikhonekta and its business clients relevant to your request.
Opt-out: You may opt out of WhatsApp messages at any time by replying STOP to any message, or by contacting us at info@ikhonekta.co.za. Opting out will stop non-essential messages. Transactional messages related to active service requests may continue until resolved.
Message types we send:
Our WhatsApp messaging service is operated via the Meta WhatsApp Business API, provided by Meta Platforms, Inc. When you send or receive messages through our WhatsApp channel, Meta processes those messages in accordance with WhatsApp's Privacy Policy at whatsapp.com/legal/privacy-policy.
We do not sell your personal information to Meta or any third party. Message content is used solely to deliver the service you requested.
All personal data is stored on South African servers in compliance with POPIA. We apply industry-standard encryption for data in transit and at rest. Message logs are retained for a maximum of 12 months unless a longer retention period is required by law or active dispute.
We do not transfer your personal data outside of South Africa except where required to deliver the WhatsApp messaging service via Meta's infrastructure, which is governed by Meta's standard contractual clauses and Privacy Policy.
If you interact with Ikhonekta on behalf of one of our business clients such as a logistics company, retailer, or educational institution, your data is processed under a data processing agreement between Ikhonekta and that client. The client is the responsible party for data collected through their use of our platform.
